How to Recycle Bottles & Cans?
There are two ways on the peninsula to recycle those unwanted bottles & cans:

Why Recycle Bottles & Cans?
It's the right thing to do!  Bottles, whether glass,
aluminum or plastic, can be made into new bottles and cans while saving resources and preventing emissions.

Recycling Saves Natural Resources
The Earth's natural resources are limited, and we are using them up quicker than ever before. When they are gone, they are GONE!

Recycling Reduces Energy Consumption
Turning virgin materials, such as petroleum, minerals and sand into products take energy, and A LOT of it. Recycling is a major component of reducing the amount of energy it takes to produce things.

For example:

  • One ton of plastic containers made with recycled material saves over 7,000 kilowatt hours
  • Recycling one can saves enough energy to run your computer for 3 hours
  • Recycling one ton of glass saves energy equal to nine barrels of petroleum.

Recycling Protects our Environment
Recycling reduces green house gas emissions, eliminates of dangerous air pollutants and helps to keep our water supplies clean.

Recycling Reduces Trash
Nobody likes to live next to a landfill. By reducing the amount of waste we throw into the landfill, we will be saving thousands of acres of land that would otherwise be used for burying trash.
