All prescription and
over-the-counter medicines should be disposed of
properly, and this means returning unused
portions to your local pharmacy.
Do NOT flush old or
unused drugs down the drain! These return
into the water supplies that we use. Please
see the
Monterey Regional Water Pollution
Control Agency for more info, and call your
pharmacy before returning unused drugs.
Pharmaceuticals can be mixed with old coffee
grounds to disintegrate the pills, and thrown in
a sealed bag into the garbage.
In Monterey, Ordway
Pharmacy has a take-back program for
pharmaceuticals and sharps.

Sharps, including

MRWMD Household Hazardous Waste facility by

at-home disposal services for sharps users.
