Are you visiting the beautiful Monterey area?

The Monterey Bay is one of the most diverse areas of natural beauty in the United States.  Thousands of visitors come here every year to see the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Cannery Row, Fisherman’s Wharf, historic State Parks, and many other attractions.

With beautiful beaches, forests, bike paths, and parks, there are many ways to enjoy Free and Fun Local Activities.   Remember, that the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary is right at your footsteps, so please remember to take only pictures, leave only footsteps, and please pack out what you pack in.  The City of Monterey, along with many regional groups, is working diligently to maintain the beauty and cleanliness of the area for all to enjoy.

Additionally, the City of Monterey along with the California Department of Conservation has partnered with local tourism-based businesses such as hotels, bars, and restaurants to implement and expand recycling services available to YOU while visiting Monterey.  Please ask at all the places you dine, stay, and play for details and see our list of participating businesses.

We have a publicly available drop-off location for recycling cardboard, paper, glass, and plastics at the Monterey Firestation on Pacific Avenue.
