
In March 2007, the Monterey City Council developed a
vision for the future of Monterey which includes
"good stewardship
of the natural environment".

In response to that
mission directive, as well as other pressing
desires for climate protection, City staff has
been involved in a variety of efforts to alter
city operations and strategies to be more
environmentally friendly.
